Beachside Atmospheric Corrosion Test Site
The NASA Corrosion Engineering Laboratory consists of a Beachside Atmospheric Corrosion Test Site, a Coatings Application facility, and an Indoor Corrosion Laboratory. The atmospheric test site includes a full weather station, 900 linear feet of long-term exposure testing along the Atlantic Ocean that is about 150 feet from the mean high tide line, alternating seawater spray apparatus and flowing seawater immersion tanks, an electrochemistry laboratory, and a small machine shop for sampling preparation and processing.
