Storms formed at 1630Z west of Cape Canaveral near Orlando and moved east over the Cape by 1730Z. Anvils were small with movement from the northeast although the sounding shows northerly winds at anvil level. The 200 mb chart suggests northeasterly geostrophic flow at that level, so perhaps the sounding is not completely representative of the regional environment.
