Weather Summary for 28 May 2001
Weak high-pressure continued over the peninsula of Florida. A weak disturbance centered to the south near Miami produced disturbed weather from a Tampa-Cape Canaveral line to the Florida Keys.
The sounding is more moist and unstable than the previous day. The winds continued from the south to west-southwest with significant speed shear concentrated from 300 - 400 mb.

Convection was disorganized. A cluster of storms north and west of Orlando produced anvils over the Cape shortly after 19Z. Storms then formed just west of the Cape along boundary collisions. Anvils moved to the northeast in response to the wind speed shear.
