Weather Summary for 25 May 2001
A weak trough extended over central Florida from Ft. Myers to Vero Beach. A strong cold front to the northwest extended from Georgia into the Gulf of Mexico.
The sounding indicates extremely dry air above 700 mb with substantial speed shear but little directional shear in the generally southwesterly flow.


Isolated thunderstorms erupted along the east coast seabreeze beginning near Vero Beach at 18Z and moving north to Melbourne by 1930Z. ANvils blew off to the east due to the increasing westerly wind speeds aloft.
